Toulouse Transit System schematic map, prototype 10-2013

Before the usually slower month of August [g_p] and before I post the desired outcomes of my work in progress on the important Barcelona transit system (most probably two different maps), I wanted to share this map of the Toulouse’s network which was for years in reserve and sidelined (or so I thought until lately): here goes the prototype I designed between late June and early October 2013 for the public transit system of Toulouse, the fifth French agglomeration, tasked by Attoma.

The relatedness between my map – I call it “géo-schématique” in French – and the current “plan général” in use online by this system (commercial name: Tisseo) is obvious because the latter is based on the former.

Since this nearly eight year old work of mine has finally reached the public under a slightly different form, I wanted to present the original one. Here it is (right-click to open in a new tab to see full size).

Update, 12 May 2022:

I just discovered the “plan général” available online as a pdf is actually displayed at every bus stop equipped (nearly 3000), since September 2016 (as announced in an article of the local newspaper, “La Dépêche”, published when the new map was released, contrasting sharply with its predecessor). So, this work reached the public long before I thought… I haven’t had the occasion to visit this city for a decade, or I would have spotted it at the first bus stop I would have crossed!
