An iconic transport diagram revisited.
This route diagram of the Halifax Transit network is based on the map conceived by Gottschalk & Ash, issued in 1970. The identity (logotype shown upper right) of the then Halifax Transit Corporation was designed by the same studio.
The present map version is an adaptation, to reflect the services in place at the end of the decade, using the same visual syntax of the iconic 1970 monochrome map.
Amongst the main changes: the color for the routes, the orientation, and the addition of the habour. I also added a geographic yet simplified inset for the city centre, showing the somewhat convoluted routings.
